- Only dry wood, ghee, and permitted havan samagri (ritual offerings) may be used.
3. Fire Safety Measures
- A minimum of two fire extinguishers and a bucket of sand or water must be kept nearby during the ceremony.
- The renter must appoint a dedicated fire watch person, who will remain on-site for the duration of the event and 30 minutes after the fire is extinguished.
4. Alarm & Fire Department Notification
- NICC will notify the fire alarm monitoring company in advance and temporarily disable smoke detection in the designated area during the ceremony.
- NICC will also notify the local fire department in accordance with fire code requirements.
- Renters may be responsible for any costs associated with fire department responses triggered by improper procedures or lack of disclosure.

- NICC staff may perform a final inspection before reactivating fire alarms.
6. Ventilation & Cleanup
- Adequate ventilation must be maintained during and after the ceremony.

- Any damage to the facility or triggering of the fire alarm due to non-compliance may result in loss of security deposit and additional charges.
7. Liability
- The renter must:
- Sign a fire safety declaration acknowledging these rules.
- Provide proof of liability insurance with NICC listed as an additional insured party.
- Ensure that all participants are aware of and comply with safety protocols.
